At the South Island Primary Care Society, we work hard to increase access to primary care on the South Island of Vancouver Island. We invite you to start a conversation with us, and join our mission by volunteering for our non-for-profit or working in one of our clinics.

Join our non-for-profit work:

  • The Fundraising Chair is responsible for overseeing the widespread distribution of our fundraising campaigns. This role involves promoting campaigns within your personal and professional networks, as well as contributing to the development and execution of strategies to ensure broad, region-wide engagement across the South Island.

  • If you are interested in volunteering to serve on our Board of Directors, please review the South Island Primary Care Constitution and Bylaws to familiarize yourself with the roles and responsibilities of board members (found in Part III of the Bylaws), and complete and return the Board of Directors Application Form.

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to support Goldstream Medical Clinic and Colwood Family Practice in managing the increased workload resulting from new physicians accepting patients. Key duties include utilizing the Oscar EMR platform to schedule new patient intakes, assisting with record requests, and ensuring the accurate uploading of new patient charts into our system.

  • This is a paid supervisor role with the South Island Primary Care Society involving supporting newly recruited UK-trained General Practitioners (GPs) at Goldstream Medical Clinic. The role requires 10-15 hours of engagement over six months, including conversations with the doctor, reviewing a few patient charts, and conducting a couple of supervised visits. This supervision is a college requirement for doctors new to the country.

  • We are seeking a locum physician with an interest in maternity care who is eager to join the GROW Practice on a full-time basis. This role involves rotating through and providing support across all practices within our network.

Colwood Family Practice is a dedicated team of physicians specializing in Family Medicine and urgent care services in Victoria, BC. We collaborate with exceptional mental health specialists and a skilled medical office staff to provide comprehensive patient care. As a teaching facility, we also support the education and development of medical students and residents, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
